The stream of the village of Porodina in Korça has overflowed, flooding 15 houses and drowning 15 cattle.

So far, 60 residents of this stream are in danger, as their homes are being damaged while the Municipality of Korça is working to stabilize the situation and the flow of the stream.

We should mention here the fact that most Albanian rivers depend heavily on rainfall, as about 70 percent of the relief is mountainous, and if a few hours of rainfall, the rivers swell in a very short period of time, where often trigger floods and pose a risk to residential areas.
Similar events often occur in Autumn and Spring, when the flow of rivers in Albania is greater.
