The National Institute of Public Health said 40 new cases were confirmed after 296 tests made.
According to the institute, 10 cases are from the municipality of Prishtina, 8 cases from the municipality of Vushtrri, 7 from the municipality of Prizren, 6 from the municipality of Fushë Kosovë, 5 from the municipality of Obiliq, 1 case in Skenderaj, Gjilan, Rahovec, and Mitrovica.
"Since the easing of measures for some activities, we have tracked new cases of COVID-19, increasing the risk of new epidemic outbreaks in some municipalities of Kosovo and in particular in the municipalities of Pristina, Vushtrri, Prizren, Fushë Kosovë, Obiliq because of not keeping the distance and not wearing masks", it is said in the announcement of the Institute.
Sunday's cases brought the total number of people affected by coronavirus to 1,234, of whom 31 lost their lives and 890 were treated.
On Sunday, the Kosovo government approved the easing of some restrictive measures, according to which from Monday, citizens entering Kosovo through land borders will not be forced to self-isolate for seven days, but will undergo medical examinations.
The Minister of Health, Armend Zemaj, said that in this way will be enabled the free movement of citizens and goods, especially from Albania and the Presevo Valley.
From Monday, the schedule of restricting the movement of citizens from 21:00 am to 05:00 pm will be removed.
Government authorities said a handbook on COVID-19 protection would be drafted for all public activities, as well as the initiation of consultations on the possibility of reopening air traffic.
As of June 1, restrictive measures have been lifted in Kosovo for many activities, including bars and restaurants.
