 This is the contract that a farmer from Berat has recently made with one sheikh, stating that new horizons are opening up towards his business. Resmi Hatij, in 2010, left Greece with his brothers to invest in Albania.

They opened a fruit and vegetable collection point in Rerëz, Berat, thus helping the farmers of the area who cultivate agricultural products. Resmi says in an interview to Top Channel that the first vegetables that were exported were destined for the Balkan countries, while today Berat tomatoes are consumed by one of the richest countries in the world.

"A month ago we managed to export to Dubai by plane from Tirana. This has been the most special cargo", he says.

"I exported tomatoes and strawberries."

"My older brother connected with him, as we also export to Iraq and Syria for the sheikhs who are there," said Resmi.

In 2015, the Hatija family sought to expand their business. After hearing the call of the Rural Agricultural Development Agency from the National Support Scheme, he received 20 million ALL.

"We invested this money to increase the capacity to cope with the market, because with the warehouse we had before, we could not supply the market," he said.

"Was it necessary to honor such a building for this business," the journalist asks.

In the last 5 years, Albanian fruits and vegetables have been sent almost all over Europe.
