North Macedonia is preparing for early elections during the pandemic

 North Macedonia will hold early elections in pandemic times. A decree signed yesterday stipulates that the Ministry of Health and the Infectious Diseases Commission must take measures to equip members of the electoral bodies with masks and gloves.

The decree also sets in motion the electoral bodies for persons and their data.

"The decree stipulates that the SEC records the data for these persons in the electoral list ex officio. In accordance with the decree, the Basic Courts and the Office for Mother Books, within three days from the day of entry into force of this decree with legal force, are obliged to submit to the SEC the data on citizens, finally with the date of entry into force of this decree with legal force", emphasize the Government of North Macedonia.

From the day this Decree enters into force, the SEC and the Statistical Office are obliged to continue the activities for updating the electoral list interrupted on March 21, 2020, in accordance with this Decree and the Electoral Code.

"With this decree, the Ministry of Health is obliged according to the protocols set by the Commission for Infectious Diseases, for the needs of the elections and after receiving data from the SEC, to provide protective masks, gloves and other necessary protective equipment for all members of election bodies and disinfectants for each polling station”, inform from the Government.
