 Bears from Sharr Mountain have come closer to Tetovo in the recent months. While, recently some bears are seen in the place known for picnics, Banjice, and some Tetovo residents recorded a bear eating without worrying at all.

He was not aggressive at all and quickly hid in the dense forest around the road. The place where the bear was seen is only 3, 4 kilometers by air from Tetovo. This is not the first time Sharr Mountain bears have landed near settlements. Such a case has been seen several times in the village of Dobroshtë in Tetovo, according to Tetovo media.



Bears in Macedonia, under the Law on Hunting from 1996, as a rare wild animal have been introduced under the protection, and their hunting is not allowed.

In Dobrosht there is also the association ‘Sharri Bear; whose purpose is to help this rare and protected animal survive on Sharr Mountain.
