According to data published by the Institute of Statistics of Albania (known locally as 'INSTAT'), in July this year, the exports to EU countries accounted for 75.5% of total exports and imports from EU countries accounted for 59.5% of all imports, as the Albanian Telegraphic Agency reports.
In July, exports of goods amounted to ALL 25 billion, while imports were estimated at ALL 56 billion.
Referring to the data, the main trading partners are Italy with which we conduct 33.1% of trade volume, followed by Turkey with 7.6%, Greece with 7.5% and China with 7.1%.
In July, the countries with which Albania has had the largest increase in exports, compared to July 2019 are the Czech Republic, Serbia, and Romania.
According to INSTAT, exports to the Czech Republic increased by 14.7%, to Serbia by 42.5%, and to Romania by 12.1%.
While the countries with which exports have had the largest decrease are Italy with 16.9%, something that was also reflected in an article by former Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi published two days ago, and Kosovo with 13.4% and Spain with 7.3%.
In terms of imports, in July of this year, the countries with which Albania has had the largest increase, compared to July 2019 are Turkey with 23.1%, China with 3.3% and North Macedonia with 29.8%.
While the countries with which imports have had the largest decrease are Italy with 7.6%, Greece with 5.1% and Germany with 3.6%.
