The Ministry of Health and Social Protection informs you about the epidemiological situation in the country.
A record number of recoveries have been recorded today. There are 227 citizens who have won the battle with the disease in the last 24 hours, bringing it to 5441 healed since the beginning of the epidemic.
During the last 24 hours in our country, 812 tests have been performed to assess infection with the SARS COV2 virus, and 93 people have been confirmed positive.
The geographical distribution of positive daily cases is as follows: 42 cases in Tirana, 7 in Fier, 6 in Lushnje, 5 in Malësi e Madhe, 4 cases in Shkodra, Durres, Korca, Mirdita, 3 in Kavaja, 2 cases in Elbasan, Has, Vlora, Librazhd, Gjirokastra, from 1 case in Devoll, Kamza, Mat, Përmet.
Currently in the Infectious Diseases Hospital and "Shefqet Ndroqi" are being treated 182 positive confirmed patients with COVID-19, 23 in intensive therapy of which only 7 patients are intubated.
We inform you that in the two COVID hospitals are also receiving specialized service 41 citizens who have been positive with COVID-19 and are currently negative but are continuing to receive hospital treatment for the consequences of the disease.
Despite the efforts of doctors, unfortunately, in the two COVID hospitals, could not win the battle with the disease the following persons: a 63-year-old from Lezha, a 67-year-old and a 70-year-old from Tirana, a 70-year-old from Librazhd, a 72-year-old from Kukes and an 88-year-old from Dibra. We express our condolences to the family.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection appeals for the rigorous implementation of physical distancing measures, the maintenance of hygiene, and the placement of the mask indoors and wherever distance cannot be maintained.
The mask is also mandatory in schools, for teachers, all staff, and 9-year high school students, while for primary school students the mask is recommended in the classroom and is mandatory in all other school facilities.
The Ministry of Health reminds citizens of the obligation to apply quarantine in case you are affected by COVID19.
If you suspect you are affected or have signs of illness you should stay isolated and call the National Emergency number 127.
The Ministry of Health has made available to citizens the green line 0800 40 40 to contact the family doctor or for any other information about Covid19.
