September 14, 1943 is related to the battle in Grehot of Gjirokastra with the Italian invaders who were leaving Albania, 36 fighters of the National Front were killed. Many of them were leaders of the Balli detachments, while in this battle the commander of the Balli Komebatr Hysni Lepenica was also killed. Family members but also representatives of right-wing subjects honored the fallen today in separate ceremonies. The chairman of the anti-communist association of politically persecuted Nebil Çika said that the honor for this day was an honor for the outstanding contribution of Albanian nationalists in protecting the integrity of Albania.

"These people were killed to defend territorial integrity, ethnic Albania, freedom and democracy. They had a political program "Decalogue" that guaranteed political and social freedom and economic development of Albania. Today they are a great inspiration and an example for those who want to change Albania."

Among the deputies and political representatives of the Democratic Party was also Myzafer Elezi. He said that history should be rewritten not only for the battle of Grehot but also for the role of the National Front

"Nothing is true from what has been written. It is the Albanian historians who without being influenced, without political influence should talk about the reality that is different from what we have learned in school benches. Albanian nationalists had a mission, they wanted Albania to be free and independent."

In a separate ceremony, representatives of the Balli Party and family members of Hysni Lepenica payes their respects at the Grehot cemetery. The MP Adriatic Alimadhi said that this day was marked for the Balli Kombëtarë.

"This day is historic because it is associated with the day of the martyrs of Balli Kombëtar and at the same time with the assassination of the general commander of the forces of Balli Hysni Lepenica together with 36 other fighters of Balli."

While Ridvan Mersini, representative of this party in Vlora said that the will of the union of nationalists is needed even in such ceremonies.

"It would be in their honor to place wreaths together alongside the Balli leader and family members."

The Grehot massacre is estimated by historical sources to have been caused by a sudden attack by Italian soldiers who were preparing to leave the Grehot barracks a few days after the capitulation of fascist Italy to Albania. Nationalists gathered from several provinces who had negotiated an unconditional surrender were shot in treason and 37 fighters, including the Commander-in-Chief of the National Front, Hysni Lepenica, lost their lives..
