Members of Bosnia and Herzegovina's tripartite presidency have decided to hold two extraordinary sessions on September 17 to discuss the recognition of Kosovo and the relocation of the Bosnian embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The request to review the recognition of Kosovo was made by a member of the presidency, Zeljko Komsic, and the other for the relocation of the embassy by another member of the presidency, Milorad Dodik.

Last week, Serbia, in the framework of an agreement with Kosovo, signed in Washington, agreed to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina held consultations on Wednesday, in which it also decided that the regular session of the Presidency will be held on September 17, in which the request of the member of the presidency, Milorad Dodik will be discussed to join the mini-Schengen initiative.

The Kosovo issue was the subject of discussion Wednesday in Sarajevo between the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Matthew Palmer, the State Department's Special Representative for the Western Balkans, and members of the Bosnian tripartite presidency, Shefik Dzaferovic, Zeljko Komes, and Milorad Dodik.

Speaking on behalf of the tripartite presidency, Dzaferovic said that one of the topics of discussion was the position of Bosnia and Herzegovina towards the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade.

"It has been clearly stated that that dialogue has nothing to do with any of the countries in the region and that it belongs only to Pristina and Belgrade," Xhaferovic said.

The Bosnian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, in a press conference after the meeting with Palmer, said that he understands the fact that the US has accepted Kosovo, but added that "I will not stop asking how it is possible for one rule to apply to one party and another to the other party ”.

Otherwise, Palmer also talked to the three members of the presidency about Bosnia's participation in military exercises with NATO forces and its allies. Serbia and Kosovo, with the economic normalization agreement signed on September 4th at the White House in Washington, have agreed to join the mini-Schengen area, announced by Serbia, Albania, and Northern Macedonia in October 2019.
