Turkish security forces in the Meric sub-prefecture of Edirne found 9 irregular Syrian migrants near the border with Greece, one of whom was wounded in the leg.

The wounded is Gazin Abdu, an 8-year-old girl, who was then taken to the hospital.

Hazar Abdu (19), the brother of Gazin Abdu said they had gone to the border with Greece to try their luck to cross into Europe.

"Greek soldiers shot us at the border. My sister was wounded in the leg with 2 plastic bullets. Then they insulted us and told us 'go back', saying bad words to us. Turkish police helped us, brought us to the police station. They sent us in the hospital and the sister received the necessary medical treatment," said Hazar Abdu, who among other things thanked Turkey for everything it is doing for them.

Following the procedures, the irregular migrants were sent to the Directorate of Immigration Management in Edirne.
