Besa Shahini and Ramë Likaj in Tirana |
This platform will be online, where you will find all the videos shot by teachers from Kosovo and Albania. The same is provided for students from first grade to 12th grade.
The Minister of Education and Science, Ramë Likaj and the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth of Albania, Besa Shahini, presented today the joint digital education platform, which will serve to improve the quality of education.
Minister Shahini said that in addition to the videos shot, this platform enables that part of teaching that takes place in the classroom in digital format.
"Teachers will have the opportunity to create a virtual classroom, it is more or less a format similar to Google class room, it is already in Albanian. The teacher publishes lessons, publishes questions, quizzes. In addition to the videos that exist, where the various lectures are filmed and the student can follow them. Can also be developed the part of the lesson that takes place in the classroom but in this digital format. The good thing about this is that we will have the opportunity from Albania to see the lectures shot in Kosovo, by the best teachers. You will also see the lectures shot in Albania, the curriculum is common and this exchange of teaching methodology will lead to the improvement of the quality of education", said Shahini.
Among other things, Shahini said that this platform covers grades 1 to 12, and that is also intended the teaching for children with special needs, where will be applied with the start of lessons on September 14.
She said that some schools have been opened in Albania, but that the new school year will start on September 14.
"We are aware that the opening of schools will increase a little more the transmission of the virus. And we are not saying that, but we have seen it from other countries that reopened the schools. Germany, France have cases that are closing individual schools or individual classes. And while it is of high national interest to open schools and return to school benches, this is only possible if we manage to prepare this whole support platform at home. If we have to close a school or a classroom, we have thought that students should not be left without lessons, but should continue teaching at home," she said.
The Minister of Education, Ramë Likaj said that the agreement was prepared in the framework of cooperation between the two ministries - Kosovo-Albania. According to him, the country is facing a challenge to organize learning in pandemic conditions.
