The leader of the Democrats blamed the misgovernance, that the country has the worst health system in the world, which was found unprepared in this situation created by the virus.
However, the truth is that this kind of health system has been going on for 30 years.
According to Basha, Albania has the lowest number of doctors per capita in the region and many of them continue to seek a conditional departure from low wages. Basha promised a salary increase of up to 1,200 euros for doctors once the Democratic Party comes to power.

"According to data from the Global Health Observatory, Albania has the lowest number of doctors per capita in the region, 1.2 doctors per 1000 inhabitants. Greece has 6.2 doctors per 1,000 inhabitants, North Macedonia 2.8, Montenegro 2.3, Serbia 2.4, and Bosnia 1.8.
After 2 terms of Rama's government, Albanian doctors are paid less than in any other country in the region or Europe. According to a study by the International Institute for Economic Studies in Vienna, doctors in Albania are paid an average of 435 euros, which is the lowest salary in the region. Doctors are paid more in Bosnia (901 euros) and Montenegro (833 euros), while in Serbia and North Macedonia with over 700 euros.
