OFL Deputy Director Artan Shkëmbi charged of deconspiracy appears before the Court

The Deputy Director of Operation Force of Law (known locally as OFL) Artan Shkëmbi has been suspended from office after being accused of deconstructing OFL operations and also for corruption.

Today he is expected to be acquainted with the security measure, with the suspension from duty and will be interrogated.

Shkëmbi was introduced along with his lawyer Artan Broci.

German authorities informed the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (Known as SPAK) that a senior Albanian police officer had leaked the secret.

For this reason, SPAK asked the court the suspension of the Deputy Director of Operation Law Enforcement, Artan Shkëmbi. The decision was communicated to him by the general director of the state police Ardi Veliu.

Albanian media say the German police had launched a property investigation into an Albanian citizen involved in illegal activities in Germany. It is learned that the German authorities have learned and raised suspicions against the number two of OFL in Albania that he had informed the subject under investigation by Germany. The charge brought by SPAK is the abuse of office and disclosure of secrecy, while the investigation is ongoing, while the measure taken is a precaution to remove from the police officer any contact with sensitive information.
