The first day without COVID-19 victims in Albania, after two and a half months

 In Albania, after more than two months, today was registered the first day without a single COVID-19 victim. In total, 370 people have been killed since the beginning of the pandemic across the country. Fatalities have increased tenfold since June 9, when the austerity measures were largely lifted. The highest number of deaths was recorded in Tirana, with 177 victims, followed by Durrës 46, Shkodra 40, Elbasan 24, Fier 19, Korça 18, Lezha 15, Kukësi 10, Dibra 8, Vlora 7, Gjirokasta 4 and Berat 2.

The capital is also the area with the highest number of active cases, 2630 people, almost half of the total of those who are still positive. According to the data distributed on Thursday afternoon by the Ministry of Health in the last 24 hours, 134 victims have been confirmed: 61 cases in Tirana, 14 cases in Durrës, 10 cases in Elbasan, 9 cases in Shkodra, 7 cases in Fier, 5 cases in Korça and Tropoja, 4 cases in Berat and Mat, 2 cases in Kruja, Vlora, Mirdita, 1 case each in Lezha, Has, Kavaja, Lushnje, Kamza, Pogradec, Malësi e Madhe, Bulqiza, Vora.

According to official data, the number of hospitalized continues to be stable. 

"Currently in the Infectious Diseases Hospital and" Shefqet Ndroqi 186 patients are being treated, 16 in intensive therapy, of which 5 patients are intubated", announced the Ministry of Health.
