Turkey, it is further stated, as one of the first countries to recognize Kosovo, and which has also provided great support for the efforts towards the international recognition of this country from the beginning, does not see the right for this process to be built in contradiction with international law and especially on the suffering of the Palestinian people, whose territories are under occupation.
"It has been repeatedly emphasized by various UN resolutions that the Palestinian conflict can only be resolved through the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and a close Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital," the statement continued. The Embassy called on the Kosovo leadership to act in accordance with these resolutions and to refrain, as stated therein, from actions that would damage the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and prevent Kosovo from being recognized by other states in the future.
