Ambassador Minxhozi says that Kosovo also has a sea, which belongs to all Albanians
Qemal MInxhozi and the journalist of Bota Sot
He says that he is one of us and that in Kosovo he feels very much at home. The Ambassador of Albania in Kosovo, Qemal Minxhozi, in an interview for the newspaper "Bota sot", said that more should be done to soften the border points so that the border between the two countries becomes invisible. He spoke in favor of the economic unification of Kosovo and Serbia and that it does not matter whether we are two or one, it is important that we be one in regional development policies. Regarding the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, he said that Kosovo should first reach an internal political consensus, and then seek to reach a consensus with Serbia. While, regarding the Balkan Mini-Schengen, Ambassador Minxhozi emphasizes that the idea is to have wider cooperation than Kosovo-Albania, but also with other Balkan countries.

Bota sot: First of all, tell us what it is like for you to be an ambassador in Kosovo, while there are countries like sisters?

Qemal Minxhozi: It is a great pleasure to be in Kosovo. I would not like Albania to have an Embassy in Kosovo, but this is not in our will, it is in the will defined by the declaration of independence that Kosovo is an independent state, Kosovo is a sovereign state, with all its rights and in this case we have opened an Embassy, as Kosovo has opened in Albania. It is a strange thing to have two Embassies within the nation, i.e. we are a unique case, but we still have to act in accordance with international rules that have been set over time.

Bota sot: It's like being at home I think…

Qemal Minxhozi: Many at home, many at home because I have it easier than any ambassador here, than any other country because to enter the mentality of the people, the culture, is a very long process and very difficult for anyone and I'm prepared for that. I am one of you.

Bota sot: We had the "Pusho Shqip" campaign this year. How do you assess this year for the Albanian tourism, until we know the situation with the Covid-19 pandemic?

Qemal Minxhozi: It was thought that it would be even more difficult. Of course the big losses but still managed to get the maximum that could be taken in pandemic times. for the first time the beaches of Albania have had more than ever vacationers from Albania; secondly, despite the fact that emigrants from Kosovo did not come because they were stranded for health reasons, their number was higher than every other year, for the period that was allowed, we are talking about June, mid-June, July, August and mid-September. It was a very interesting thing that the level of cooperation between the institutions of Kosovo and Albania increased, there were no official health barriers but still in a satisfactory way the pre-defined protocols were implemented. What I would say is that even citizens from Kosovo were given the opportunity to find an open window in a very important part of Kosovo, such as Albania.

Bota sot: Recently in Kosovo was introduced the campaign 'Pusho shqip' (Rest in an Albanian way) for the Winter season in Kosovo. In your opinion, even though Kosovo has no sea, are there enough places for Albanians from Albania to spend their winter holidays here?

Qemal Minxhozi: You made a mistake, Kosovo has a sea because that sea belongs to the Albanians. On the other hand, the arrival of the first tourists, say, tourists, from Albania to Kosovo, has a special feature as it is a very large tourist company that welcomes people from Kosovo and now came the staff of this company in season, say on the eve of Winter in Kosovo. Be convinced that the mountains of Kosovo, mountain tourist resources, are very very interesting for every resident of Albania, whether from Tirana, Durres, Saranda, Vlora, and so on..
