The Prishtina-Durrës railway project is also expected to be part of the discussion.
In this meeting, 15 agreements are expected to be signed, including a joint statement of the two prime ministers who recommend the Assembly of Kosovo and that of Albania to oversee the implementation of agreements reached between the two countries.
The Prime Minister of the country, Avdullah Hoti, in a press conference two days ago spoke about the agreements that will be signed between Kosovo and Albania.
"We have approved 15 agreements that we will sign in the joint meeting this Friday because they deepen the relationship with Albania. We have taken a decision to establish an office in the Valley that will be at the service of citizens to protect their rights in the field of education in support and preservation of culture in that part.
Whereas, the Ambassador of Kosovo for Albania, Nait Hasani, regarding the new agreements that are expected to be signed in tomorrow's meeting of the two governments, Kosovo and Albania, said that they are a continuation of the meetings held every year.
"So Friday's meeting is a continuation of the meetings of the Government of Kosovo and Albania. It is an important meeting given the circumstances the country is going through in times of pandemic. At the time of the pandemic we had total isolation between Kosovo and Albania, which is probably one of the biggest damages that could have happened to citizens among themselves, therefore, among the agreements that will be signed now is an agreement for Covid-19 to be signed by the health ministers."
One of the agreements that has been announced that can be signed is the Prizren-Durrës railway line. The construction of this line is also a point of the agreement for the normalization of Kosovo-Serbia economic relations, signed on September 4 in Washington.
"Transportation of goods and services is safer also due to possible damage to national and international roads. Thus, the port of Durres connected by railway to Prizren-Pristina and other places is important for the development of Kosovo first but also for other countries.
Since 2014, when joint meetings of the two governments began to be held, a number of agreements have been signed between the two countries. But, there are significant delays in their implementation.
The last joint meeting between the two governments of Kosovo and Albania was held in November 2018 in Peja where a series of agreements were signed.
