Mostly in recent months, but also before, there has been a large increase in the number of foreign migrants (or at least this is what the Albanian police reports), mainly Syrians and from the Middle East, to cross into Albania as transit or springboard to other Balkan countries and more after Western Europe.
The arrests are usually made in the extreme cities of Albania on the border with Greece and Montenegro, respectively in Korça and Shkodra.
Almost every day the state police do not report the arrests of various persons caught transporting illegal citizens from Asia and the Middle East.
The same thing has done today, the Albanian police
officially says on its Facebook page that has arrested an Albanian citizen with the initials M. SH., Who was caught red-handed transporting 15 illegal immigrants.
Let us hope that the same thing is not happening as with cannabis some years before, where the more the Albanian police reported that they were arresting people and destroying cannabis plantations, the more it turned out to be planted in other parts of Albania. Let’s hope this news is not an underground mafia fight to seize as much as possible from this illicit trade with corrupt cops who are fighting to regulate among them the black market of illegal immigrants.
