 For almost 5 months, by order of the Ministry of Agriculture, Koran fishing will be banned in Lake Ohrid at the Albanian side.

The ban will start from November 11, 2020 to March 1, 2021.

Excluded from this measure is the fishing of gudgeons (vlaga), based on the lakeshore areas defined by the Fisheries Management Organization (FMO) Pogradec. The order stipulates that any fish equipment caught by the monitoring and control bodies during the time of the ban on fishing is to be seized.

In these 5 months will be allowed only fishing of Koran reproducers for the purpose of collecting eggs up to 200 kg, which will be laid for incubation in the plants of the Koran Cub Production Center in the village of Lin, Pogradec. The Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture Services (DFSA) to coordinate the organizational, technical and financial activity with the Center for the Production of Koranic Cases in the village of Lin, for the readiness to take Koran eggs, for the purpose of treating for incubation.

The egg collection activity will be carried out organized under the direction of DHFA, under which is the Fisheries Monitoring Control Sector, Koran Catch Production Center in the village of Lin, which in cooperation with OMP Pogradec, to determine and activate for this purpose 40 experienced fishermen, members of this OMP", it is said in the order.
