Over 250 students and teachers with Covid-19 in Kosovo, 14 schools attend online classes

 The increase in the number of coronavirus cases in Kosovo has led to the closure of 14 schools in the country and the teaching of online courses. This is because many students and teachers have been affected by the virus.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Education and Science, 130 students have been infected and the number of affected teachers is 148.

This was announced by Diellza Kukaj, spokesperson at the Ministry of Education and Science and advisor to Minister Ramë Likaj.

“From the last report of the education inspectorate for the registration of cases with COVID-19 in schools during the period, 19 - 23.10.2020 in all municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo ware reported a total of 130 infected students and 148 infected teachers. The municipality with the most cases of infected is Prishtina", said Kukaj.

She added that so far the schools are respecting the instructions of MES, MoH, and NIPHK.

Respectively, they are operating based on the general guideline of the Ministry of Education and Science for the organization of learning in pandemic conditions, and the protocol of response to the pandemicCOVID-19 Schools are not closing, but teaching is being organized in accordance with the general guidelines according to three scenarios based on the viral situation. Online and distance learning is available for students who are currently teaching according to scenario C and the combined scenario B", said Kukaj.
