The first Albanian music band in Shkodra

 In 1878 Maestro Giovani Canale, an Italian from Naples, created the "First Albanian Music Band" in the city of Shkodra, at a time when Albania was still under Ottoman rule.

The creation of this Music Band marks the beginning of an artistic "revolution" not only for Shkodra but for all of Albania, as they are the first steps when culturally occupied Albania was trying to change the cultural geopolitics, to join the advanced western countries, where these instruments were born and developed.

The creation of this Band has not only an artistic-cultural significance but also political and geopolitical.
