Serbia sends note of protest to Albania: Rama expresses aspiration for a Greater Albania

 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia has handed over a note of protest to the Ambassador of Albania to Serbia, Ilir Bocka. On the note, Belgrade protests against the statements of the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, at the joint meeting of the Government of Albania and the Government of Kosovo, on October 2 in Tirana.

Serbia expresses indignation at Rama's statements on the removal of the border with Kosovo. According to the protest notes, Rama's statements express the aspiration for the creation of a 'Greater Albania'

"Such statements, which imply the unification of Albania and the Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija and the creation of a Greater Albania, are a justifiable cause for concern, both for the Republic of Serbia and for other countries in the region committed to preserving of stability and intensification of cooperation in the region", it is said in the announcement of the Serbian ministry.

The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the person in charge of work at the Serbian Embassy in Tirana, on Tuesday, refused to accept the protest note.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Albania has officially called the Ambassador of Serbia in Tirana to convey a verbal note because the Minister of Defense of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, in The statement to the public referred to Albanians with a pejorative term and offended Prime Minister Rama.
