 The Chief of the Municipal Police in Malësi e Madhe, Mentor Hasanaj, together with another person, were injured at noon today in a gun attack while traveling along the Shkodra-Koplik road axis.

The police announced that "an unidentified person, who was driving a motorcycle, shot with a firearm in the direction of the municipal police vehicle of Malësia e Madhe", injuring two of the three persons who were in it.

The health condition of the municipal police chief is aggravated due to the injuries received. After being sent to the Shkodra Regional Hospital, he was urgently sent for more specialized treatment to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana. Meanwhile, the investigative group, which went to the scene, is investigating as the first investigation track due to his official duty.

Today's event takes place just a few days after the murder of two young men in the village of Vrith in the Malësia e Madhe. The dead bodies of the two young men were found by police after several days of searching, in a deep mountainous area, near a plot of 29 narcotic cannabis Sativa plants. This has led police to suspect that the killings occurred due to drug conflicts.
