| Albanian Police while arresting two arm traffickers in Durrës |
Police Notification:
Following the work to keep the criminal situation under control, prevent and crackdown on illegal trafficking, firearms, and narcotics, specialists for Investigation of Illegal Trafficking and Narcotics in DVP Durrës, in cooperation with the Directorate of Special Operational Force in the General Directorate of State Police, based on several months of information followed by special methods of investigation under the direction of the Prosecution of the Durrës Judicial District, have hit a case of arms trafficking.
As a result, these citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:
Artur Polovina, 47 years old, resident of Kuçova, previously convicted for the criminal offense "Cultivation of narcotic plants";
Barjam Hoxha, 60 years old, resident in the village of Magjat, Kuçovë, previously convicted of forgery.
Their arrest was made after several months of work with special methods of investigation, whereas as a result their criminal activity of trafficking in firearms and ammunition abroad was documented.
As material evidence, the Police services seized 2 firearms (machine gun and Kalashnikov), 822 bullets, a quantity of cannabis sativa, 2 vehicles owned by BH and AP citizens, as well as 3 mobile phones, which these citizens had in use.
Work continues to identify other persons involved in this criminal activity.
The materials were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of the Durrës Judicial District, for the criminal offenses "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition" and "Production and sale of narcotics" committed in collaboration.
