Diver searching in Amsterdam relating to the murder of 'President of Chameria' Festim Lato

 From Monday, until this Wednesday afternoon, numerous searches have been carried out with divers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where last year the 43-year-old Albanian Festim Lato was killed. 

He declared himself President of Chameria, a northern province of Greece where Albanians have been expelled fro their lands in the previous century.

Dutch divers and police searching clues relating to Festim Lato murder

Dutch media write that on Monday the search was extended to the canal near Loenen aan de Vecht, exactly where Lato's body was found dismembered on July 19, 2019, while this Wednesday divers were seen in a house in Groenlandsekade, along Vinkeveense Plassen.

Passers-by saw many police officers and investigators in white suits entering and leaving the building. The Utrecht police spokesman made no further statements regarding the investigation.

Festim Lato was also a businessman who operated mainly abroad, while calling for the independence of Chameria, even declaring himself as its president. Meanwhile, during the preliminary investigation, after the murder, the Dutch police also mentioned the track of the numerous debts that Lato owed to various persons.

Meanwhile, it remains a mystery of why these searches by Dutch police did not took place exactly when Festim Lato was killed, last year..
