Arbër Gashi is a young man of Albanian origin who lives and works in Sweden. Arbëri graduated in Political Science in the city of Hamstad and now works as the Head of one of the Social Security Institutions in one of the Gothenburg branches. He is 24 years old and is the youngest director in the Office where he works, a fact that makes him even more responsible for the position he holds.

"I do not know if I am really the youngest director in Sweden, but in the institution where I work, yes. Of course, it is a very good feeling, I feel very happy when young people are given the opportunity to show their skills. Of course, it is also a big responsibility, because I have to justify this important position. My training has helped me get this job because I did not have much experience but I managed to successfully pass four interviews and two intelligence tests and today I am a director. Even the communication and engagement I have had before in various organizations has been a very big plus, I think."

Arbër Gashi also told what his life was like in Sweden, as a child of two Albanian immigrant parents.

"I was born in a very democratic state that gives you the opportunity to achieve everything, regardless of your name, Arbër or otherwise. At home we have always spoken Albanian, we have grown with attention to the homeland and the values of the Albanian nation. We grew up with values to respect my parents, to respect people regardless of the position they have, etc. I think that the values that my parents nurtured helped me to have the success I have today."

He tells why he decided to study political science. "Growing up I realized that my peers in my homeland - I speak when I was 13 or 14 years old - did not have the opportunities that I had, the opportunities that Sweden had given me, and I always wanted to see the homeland a little better, seeing this situation are felt obliged to become part of politics, studying political science so that one day I could contribute to my homeland. I think human solidarity and equality are key in life to a successful future. Sweden 150 years ago was one of the poorest countries, but with work and will they have built this country."
