The cocaine in Maradona portraits seized by Turkish Police
Turkish police seized 2.5kg of cocaine at Istanbul airport, hidden in portraits of football legend Diego Armando Maradona, who passed away a few weeks ago, following a history of cocaine abuse.

Turkish Customs said in a statement that a 72-year-old man with German citizenship but of Croatian origin was arrested for this amount of narcotics. The seized cocaine would capture a value of 2 million Turkish lira, or about 250 thousand dollars.

One of the best players in football history, Maradona won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986 but was expelled from the 1994 World Cup for using banned substances. He abused drugs and alcohol for years and died on November 25, a month after turning 60.
