Kosovo Ambassador meets Avazovic, seeks economic development where Albanians live in Montenegro

 On December 18, 2020, Ambassador Ridi Kurtezi held a courtesy meeting with Dritan Abazovic, Deputy Prime Minister in the new Montenegrin government.

During this meeting, Ambassador Kurtezi conveyed the best wishes for success during the term of Mr. Abazovic in Government and reaffirmed the position of the Albanian Government to expand and further intensify relations between our two neighboring countries, for the benefit of the progress of comprehensive democratic and accelerating the integration agenda in the system of European values ​​and standards.

Ambassador Kurtezi assessed that the Albanian minority in Montenegro is a stable bridge of friendship and an important factor of peace, stability, development, and integration. After appreciating what has been achieved so far, he encouraged Deputy Prime Minister Abazovic to further engage in the realization of all the rights of the Albanian minority, which derive from domestic and international legislation. In this context, a particular emphasis was placed on equitable representation in the central and local administration, economic development of areas where Albanians live, and increasing the quality of education in the Albanian language.
