The Minister of Interior, Sander Lleshaj, has decorated with the Medal of Bravery the two Anti-Terror officers, Director Gledis Nano and Officer Indrit Doda, for their contribution to saving the lives of some children who were evacuated from the camps in Syria.

In his speech, the resigned minister, Sander Lleshaj, said that the mission to bring back home other children is continuing.

"From November last year until November this year, efforts continued to get from the Al-Hawl camp other children and in other camps in Syria. You know that in November of this year another group of children was saved, while this operation is still going on, with the hope that all those children, victims of the irresponsibility of their parents, their families, connected to terror networks international, to be able to return home, to escape the hell of the Syrian camps; to be able to get close to their families, to get closer to normal life, social, family, to be educated, to be educated and not to grow up as children of terror, but as children of Albania”.

Further, Lleshaj said that every child returned from the Syrian camps in Albania is one more Albanian and one less terrorist. "Therefore, in appreciation of all this effort, this contribution, I have decided as the last act in the capacity of Minister of Interior, to sign two orders for awarding medals, for the Director of the Directorate of Anti-Terror, Gledis Nano and his collaborator, Indrit Doda, two officers who, as you have all seen and followed, have been behind this operation, have carried a burden, have been in danger together with the Consul General of Albania in Lebanon, Marc I. Ghorayeb and many other international collaborators; they have worked, contributed and really endangered, in the name of saving the lives of some children who have been evacuated and others who will be evacuated, hopefully, as soon as possible”.

In October, 5 people, including 4 children, were taken out of the camp in Syria and returned to Albania, while many others continue to stay in the Al-Hawl camp.
