In his message on the murder of Klodian Rasha, Prime Minister Edi Rama
said that the Interior Minister Sandër Lleshaj submitted to him his resignation. Rama stressed that he appreciates Lleshaj for his civic sense while distancing him from the murder of the 25-year old man.
"Lleshaj made his resignation available to me immediately after the murder. I told him to wait for me to come back. We met today and I am very proud of Sander Lleshaj's sense of civic responsibility. But in this country, not everyone is the same. He has nothing to do with the serious act of killing a 25-year-old boy," Rama said.
The news of Lleshaj's resignation has been confirmed by the Prime Ministry. Sources from the majority suggest that Sander Lleshaj is expected to be replaced by one of the current deputy ministers.
