 Albanian entrepreneur Shpëtim Alaj has won the prestigious award in Germany as the entrepreneur of the year for civic engagement. Was the Chief of Social Affairs, Education, Youth, Health and Urban Development, Ingo Wachtmeister who handed over to him the award.

"Shpëtim Alaj is a model for our urban society and always with a lot of passion. We thank you for that," Wachtmeister said.

This award is given to entrepreneurs who volunteer or enable their employees to get involved in civic engagements and Salvation is a big-hearted entrepreneur for ThSV-Handball.

Since 2018 he has been the president of ThSV-Eisenach, involved in the Friends of the Summer Awards Association and is committed to the good coexistence of different nationalities in Eisenach.

"It is a great honor for me. I would also like to thank you very much! I am very happy to have lived in Eisenach for 29 years. I love this city, I love Thuringia and Germany", Alaj said.

According to the Albanian entrepreneur, there are many ways to happiness, and one of these is not to complain. "We should not complain, but address issues together and get involved, because we all live here together."

Due to the restrictive measures, a ceremony could not be held as usual for receiving the award and not without purpose the date was apointed close to December 5 which is the International Volunteer Day. This date has been set by the UN since 1986.
