Coordinating Officer for the Diaspora in Athens Joneda Dodaj together with representatives of the Albanian Embassy in Athens met with young people from the Special Detention Center for Youth in Avlona.

After the meeting with the head of the institution, Spiridon Patsogianni, they heard from the young people of the center their requests, complaints, and needs. The young people were given symbolic gifts for the end-of-year holidays and the Embassy expressed its commitment to help them by using all available means.

"We talked about the needs of Albanian youth. Also the opportunity to offer them literary books. We gave them symbolic gifts for the holidays and in general, they were in good health and had no complaints about the way they were treated", says Joneda Dodaj, coordinator for the Diaspora in Athens.

The visit focused on young citizens who are serving sentences or awaiting sentencing, their rights, and the opportunity for material assistance that the Albanian state can offer.
