"A part of women, after practicing prostitution for a long time, turn from exploited into tutors. This is due to the fact that since they have created good economic conditions, they make aesthetic interventions.
In this way they create a different status and introduce themselves to another social class, start and associate with people called VIPs, and businessmen, thus increasing the fees from 500 to 2000 euros, in the form of escort. "These tariffs have been learned from the investigations," said Gjergji Nikolla, the head of anti-trafficking in the Tirana directorate.
These women called 'escorts' are seduced as they manage to secure high revenues by selling their bodies.
"What is emancipated today, that we can no longer have ordinary prostitution, but in everyday jargon are called escorts. Some girls take it upon themselves to offer the company of some men for dinners and birthdays in the beginning. Then in exchange of payments, they go beyond the company with the client,” says lawyer Bledar Meminaj, to Euronews Albania.
The involvement of students in this illegal activity is worrying.
"In recent years, it has been noticed that student girls, coming from the districts of Tirana, and some other categories, have seen that this activity brings great benefits, they have thought to exercise this type of activity in addition to other jobs that can do as call center, massage center.
Generally, they do it of their own free will. They provide clients through their social acquaintances, other women who practice prostitution to taxi drivers, hotel receptionists and then share the benefits together."
