Albania's leaders congratulate Joe Biden, the 46th US President

 

Albanian leaders have congratulated the 46th US President, Joe Biden after taking office. The first congratulations came from President Ilir Meta, the leader of the opposition, Lulzim Basha and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka.

President Meta is optimistic about Albania's rapprochement with the United States during Biden's leadership of the White House.

"We are convinced that our relations will continue to develop further, while together we strengthen transatlantic cooperation and NATO. "Albania will continue to rely on the strategic partnership with the United States, as a vital guarantee for peace and stability in our region and in important global issues", Meta wrote on Facebook.

While the chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, talking about the scenario if he will become prime minister of Albania, says that he can not wait to work with Biden to strengthen relations between the two countries.

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka writes that now "the eyes of the whole world" are on Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
