Minimum wage increased to 30,000 leks and VAT removed for 40 thousand small businesses in Albania

 From raising the minimum wage, removing VAT, zeroing profit tax, fiscalization, and removing excise duty on agricultural fuel, these are some of the important decisions that take effect today.

In Albania, from January 1, 2020, the minimum wage will be 30 thousand leks, from 26 thousand that was until yesterday.

This is the decision of the Government, which was taken on December 16 and enters into force today. Meanwhile, to receive this basic salary, must be performed 174 working hours per month during normal working hours, while allowances are given on the basic salary.

Also, another decision that enters into force today is that businesses with annual turnover from 0 to 10 million leks, will not be subject to VAT payment.

From today began the facilities for small business, which until 2029 will not pay this tax and there are about 40 thousand businesses that are expected to leave the VAT scheme, which is also the most important item of tax revenue in the state budget.

According to the changes in the law on income tax, starting from today the small businesses with an annual turnover of up to 14 million will have zero profit tax.

While the invoices to be issued to Public/State Entities must be Electronic Invoices, which will be exchanged through the Central Invoice Platform.
