The actor of Albanian origin Dritan Kastrati wins the important Scottish award

 Albanian actor Dritan Kastrati is the winner of the second prize of Hector MacMillan in Scotland, with the theater where he co-authored with Nicola McCartney, "How not to drown".

The selection was made by members of the Scottish Association of Playwrights and it was Nicola who wrote: "Dritan and I are pleased to accept this award, especially since it comes from the community of playwrights and theater directors in Scotland," he wrote.

He says it is an honor especially considering the quality shows that were produced in Scotland during 2019-2020. This is good news for 2021.

The work "How not to drown" is the story of a Kosovar refugee teenager. Dritan Kastrati tells an extraordinary story of an 11-year-old that his father entrusted to human smugglers to make his way by boat, train and truck across Europe to arrive in Britain.

Dritan Kastrati is a 29-year-old actor in the UK and currently lives in London.
