The first to receive the vaccine, Dr. Pellumb Pipero, got COVID-19 after 14 days

 The infectious disease doctor, Pëllumb Pipero, has been infected with the coronavirus. On Tuesday, his test result came out positive, 14 days after he received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

He said to the media he is in good condition, as he has shown only mild symptoms, such as headaches.

Pipero infection is the first case in Albania that a person becomes infected with coronavirus after receiving the first dose of the vaccine.

So far, about 500 people have been vaccinated in Albania, all doctors, and nurses, as well as Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Pëllumb Pipero is a director at the Ministry of Health of Albania.
