The Tirana Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into organ trafficking after the dead body of an Albanian brought from Spain was with his heart removed.

Albanian media say it is about the 33-year-old Saimir Sula, who died in a hospital in Barcelona.

The moment that the body was transported to Albania for burial, the family noticed a cut mark on the heart side, suspecting and requesting a forensic examination, from which it turned out that the heart was removed.

The family has made the denunciation to the Tirana prosecutor's office, which has launched the investigation in cooperation with the Spanish authorities.
