The short film 'Schauerfilm', written and directed by Lorena Sopi, won the "Best Female Director" award at the "Cult Movies International Film Festival", which ended last night in London.

The twenty-minute film with elements of the science-fiction genre deals with the strange disappearances of students in an old school in the form of a mysterious labyrinth, around which strange stories are woven.

'Schauerfilm', the title used as a symbol of the German expressionism of the 1930s in cinematography, was declared the winner for best director in the short film category at the 2021 edition of the London Film Festival, where over 120 films competed and which has been held partly by audiences and partly online due to the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Shauerfilm" is a black comedy. It deals with a dark comic situation in a film school which 'swallows' the talents, deals with topics that are encountered as common in everyday life, which undergo deep and unknown dimensions.

Director Lorena Sopi has made several short films, including "More Beautiful than the Spring", with which she competed in the "Star Film Festival" which was held online in Barcelona from 25 -31 January 2021.

Also in January 2019, the film "Ray" directed by Lorena Sopi triumphed in the category "Best Short Drama" at the "World Film Festival".
