China donates tens of thousands of vaccines to Montenegro

 The People's Republic of China has approved a donation of 30,000 coronavirus vaccines to Montenegro, as the Montenegrin government has announced.

According to its press release, the Sinovac vaccines are expected to arrive soon.

A day earlier, a Serbian donation of 2,000 Russian vaccines against the coronavirus, Sputnik V., arrived in Montenegro.

Montenegro has the highest rate of coronavirus infections in the Western Balkans.

On Thursday, authorities there reported 484 new cases, after testing 1,901 samples.

The number of coronavirus victims in this country has reached 926.

Montenegro, with about 620,000 inhabitants, currently has 8,468 active cases of coronavirus.

Kosovo and Montenegro are the two countries in the Western Balkans that have not yet started coronavirus vaccination.
