The CEC signs the contract for the electronic identification of Albanian voters

 The Central Election Commission has signed a contract with Smartmatic, which will enable all Albanian voters to be electronically identified in the April 25 elections.

After the signing of this contract, the process for the implementation of the identification system is expected to start immediately, which will be tested a few days before the elections.

Meanwhile, although it is a legal obligation established in the Electoral Code, work has not yet begun to enable the voting on 10% of electoral zones.

Political parties have not agreed on the areas where this technology will be piloted, which holds hostage the whole process.
