A 15-year-old Albanian girl lost her life on Saturday night in Montreal as she tried to come to the aid of an injured driver, in a car race.
According to local media, Veronika Gashi together with a friend of hers were going to attend a race with modified cars, as they saw two vehicles collide. In an attempt to come to her aid, the girls' car was hit by another racing vehicle. According to the police report, the incident happened at around 6.30 pm.
Described as a studious girl who did not really like the holidays, Veronica may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"Her friend Charbel Saliba is thought to have managed to pull Veronica's body out of the vehicle shortly before it burned," said Gashi family close friend Isabelle Collin.
"She left so early to go to work on Saturday morning that I did not even had the chance to say goodbye," says her sister Laura Gashi.
