A report published by UN Women on "Women in Politics 2021", ranks Albania in 5th place among the 13 only countries in the world, where 50 percent or more of ministers are women.
The report, which is based on data from 2021, shows that in Albania this percentage is 56.25%, right after countries such as Sweden (57.1%), Belgium (57.1) and Austria (57.1). First place is held by Nicaragua, a Central American country with 58.8%.
According to the publication, despite the growing number of women holding high positions in politics, gender inequalities continue to be widespread in many parts of the world.
