Marash Kumbulla will not play against England and San Marino due to knee injury

The Albanian Football Federation (AFF) announced on Saturday afternoon that the defender of the national team, Marash Kumbulla, will not be ready to play in the two matches valid for the qualifiers of the "Qatar 2022" World Cup.

The reason for the absence is a knee injury, which will make him not be on the field in Sunday's match against England and against San Marino three days later.

FSHF says that the footballer underwent medical tests on Friday and after consultations with doctors it was decided to return to Italy on Sunday to his club AS Roma, to continue with the recovery phase.

"I do not believe that we will have problems in the defensive phase, the one who will play, I am sure he will do well. "Kumbulla had a knee problem and we do not want to take any risks, I feel sorry for him because he was playing against Roma," said coach Edoardo Reja during today's press conference.

Kumbulla may be replaced by Gjimshit, Ismajli or Veseli.

Albania is in Group I of the qualifiers where in the group, in addition to England and San Marino, there are also Hungary, Poland and Andorra. With the latter Albania won 1-0 in the first match.
