Mario Mitaj, the youngest player to debut with the Albanian national team

Mario Mitaj has entered the history of Albanian football, becoming this week the youngest player to make his debut with the Albanian national team. His presence for a few minutes in the challenge against San Marino made him the new record holder with 17 years and 237 days.

A record that has also attracted attention in Greece, where various media have written about how the Albanian boy already keeps another impressive figure in his CV after what he recorded with AEK becoming the youngest foreigner to wear the jersey with the first team of this team and the fourth in history including the Greek footballers.

But in the Greek media, special emphasis has been given to the fact that Mitaj had already finally decided to wear the red and black jersey and that the AFF was assured that there would be no turning back. Mitaj has long been interested in the Greek Federation and moreover, the AEK club had pushed him to represent the Greek national team. But with the activation even for a few minutes in the official match against San Marino, it is already clear that Mitaj can not play with any other representative and thus, Greece must withdraw from any claim or interest he had for the player.
