The Albanian community urges the United Kingdom to assist Kosovo in providing vaccines

A group of UK-based professional associations and NGOs based in the UK have asked public authorities there to consider assisting Kosovo to provide the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Albanian community urges the United Kingdom to assist Kosovo in providing vaccines
"We urge the British public authorities to show solidarity with Kosovo to enable them to provide the desperately needed vaccines against COVID-19 to avoid a possible human catastrophe," reads the open letter addressed to the Albanian community there.

In the reasoning for the request, it was emphasized that Kosovo is a new republic and that it currently has the lowest vaccination rates in Europe, due to the economic situation and the lack of a sufficient number of adequately trained medical staff.

"Kosovo is entering a dangerous phase of the pandemic without any vaccine on the horizon with rapid transmission to the community," the letter said.
