A group of UK-based professional associations and NGOs based in the UK have asked public authorities there to consider assisting Kosovo to provide the COVID-19 vaccine.
"We urge the British public authorities to show solidarity with Kosovo to enable them to provide the desperately needed vaccines against COVID-19 to avoid a possible human catastrophe," reads the open letter addressed to the Albanian community there.
In the reasoning for the request, it was emphasized that Kosovo is a new republic and that it currently has the lowest vaccination rates in Europe, due to the economic situation and the lack of a sufficient number of adequately trained medical staff.
