The "Godfather" of Shkodra is killed, two weapons found in a burned car

 One person was killed by gunfire in the city of Shkodra. The victim is  Bardhok Pllanaj, known as the Godfather of Shkodra.

The event took place on Sunday evening at around 21:10, in the village of Dobraç i Ri, while many details are still unknown.

The execution of the 46-year-old happened while he was traveling in a vehicle according to the law enforcement forces. Police have cordoned off the area.

A vehicle was found burning at a close distance from the place of the murder, allegedly belonging to the perpetrators.

Police say two firearms were found inside the burnt "Volkswagen" vehicle with Italian license plates.

Bardhok Pllanaj, turns out to have been a person convicted in Belgium for trafficking in human beings.

The 46-year-old has been rumored several times in the media. He was also investigated for illegal construction in the city of Shkodra of a building worth of 2 million euros, a case for which he was arrested in 2018.

The Shkodra prosecutor's office accused him of using money from criminal activities to build a 10-story building.

Also, Pllanaj was investigated together with several other people, as part of the group of detainees within the operation "Laguna e Vilunit" in 2014 where 804 kg of cannabis were seized that the group was trying to traffic in Italy.

The 46-year-old was suspected of being the leader of the group, and an arrest warrant was even issued against him, but he was not found at that time. He subsequently escaped sentencing due to lack of evidence.
