The General Prosecutor's Office announces that it is investigating 38 proceedings while another 50 are still being verified for electoral crimes. The prosecution says that these are events that happened before and during the election process on April 25, according to Euronews Albania.
“From the reports of the prosecutions of the general jurisdiction on criminal offenses in the field of elections for the pre-election period until May 07, 2021, it results that the prosecutions have registered criminal proceedings for 38 notifications of criminal offenses related to the elections and are in the process of preliminary verification 50 notifications for criminal offenses”, it is stated in the notification of the General Prosecution.
Currently, there are 10 persons who are being prosecuted for acts related to the elections, of which 5 have been arrested in flagrante delicto, the security measure "prison arrest" has been requested for 4 persons and the request for 3 persons has been accepted.
