Albanian boxing legend Ahmet Golemi passed away at 85

 Albanian boxing legend Ahmet Golemi has passed away at the age of 85. The news was confirmed by his son on social networks.

Former boxer Ahmet Golemi has been declared 5 times champion and four times runner-up in our country, while he continued his contribution in the field of letters and sports journalism, where he will be remembered for a long time as a commentator with a prominent voice.

Even President Ilir Meta through social networks has reacted regarding the news of the death of the former boxing champion.

A pioneer of our professional boxing, five-time champion and four-time runner-up, he challenged the regime itself in a "duel" in the name of defending his passion, to re-emerge stronger as a talented writer, journalist, and commentator, unrepeatable and much-loved.

"The Grand Master Ahmet Golemi will remain a university for the generations of young Albanian athletes, a rare intellectual and active citizen, whose role in every position he played and held, is difficult to replace", writes among others the head of state.
