Albanian student Tana Lala-Pritchard winner of the prestigious award in Arkansas

 An Albanian woman has received the award as an excellent student for 2020 from the "Alpha Chi" Honorary Association in Arkansas, USA.

Tana Lala-Pritchard has studied at East Central University and has been praised for her outstanding work.

The award recognizes high-achieving graduates in the top 10% of U.S. students who have used their academic scholarship to build an outstanding service and leadership career for the best.

"Investing in studies is my salvation and the thing that always made me visible. "Pursuing academic excellence was my only way to succeed and take control of my life, from which you can grow both personally and professionally if you work hard for it," says Ms. Lala- Pritchard.

After earning a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Business Administration from the ECU in 2002, with honors, she received a master's degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Science. At the ECU, she was the first international college student to receive the George Nigh Governor Award in Oklahoma.

Alpha Chi recognized Lala-Pritchard for her outstanding communication and advocacy work in science, politics, business, and social entrepreneurship with actors across the public and private sectors to form evidence-based investments, innovations, and policies on critical issues, such as climate action, food and security, gender equality, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.

Tana left Albania after the civil unrest and the fall of communism in the 1990s.
